Oh, and. Have you read other Luna books yet? Would be curious to hear your thoughts... I find I like them better than in theory than in practice, but the line's a fantastic idea.

No. I imagine I'll check out Asaro's work though, because I liked her Primary Inversion well enough. :)

I'd recommend reading The Fire Opal first. It's a standalone book, which is always nice. While there are other books set in that world, you don't need to have read them to understand what's going on. I haven't read them, and I was just fine.

In my opinion the last hundred or so pages felt too rushed, but it's still a good read. And the mythology of the world is quite interesting- to put it simply, the three gods cannot physically manifest for more than short periods of time, for when they do, they're place in the cosmos is empty. It's something like that, anyway- it's been a while since I last read it ^^;

Ugh, typo. Why in the world did I say "they're" instead of "their"?

That's just sad...

*screams* OMG, you actually KNOW the author?!?! I absolutely loved it! I did buy it mainly for the cover, but it so good once I started it. And there were a lot of unexpected turns (Ambrose!! Never saw that coming...) Plus I feel incredibly kick-ass reading a book called Poison Study. It's really hard to wait for the sequel.

She's in my graduate program at Seton Hill University. :) I don't know her well, but she's really cool so far. :)
