So did you think that it should have ended before or after that angsty high school drama section with Adam after she killed the demon vampire? I agree with the not a lot of romance was needed, but that scene just seemed shoved in there because Briggs new there wasn't much in there and she thought she would loose readers without more, but it felt ham handed as did the search for Andre
I liked the scene where Adam picks up Mercy as a lost dog, but that was before the slaying of Andre. I don't think there was a scene with Adam after that. But Chapter 14, the chapter where we learn that Andre still hasn't come to trial, I feel is where the book started getting long, especially once Mercy started her own investigation. Not that I have a better idea of how to wrap that up, but I do wish it'd been more expedient. :)
Looking forward to your thoughts on book three, when you get around to it. :)
I should actually be done either later this morning or tonight, as I have gone into a nocturnal mode. I'm read that; Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puff by Chuck Klosterman; and Cross County right now, as well as working on critiques for Kate Martin and Chris Pence. I have a lot to read, it's exhausting
I knew there was a reason I was avoiding this blog. Just when I thought I'd run out of books to read. BTW, I love you for having read Kelley Armstrong's Bitten and Carrie Voughn's Kitty Norville series.
and it wasn't really a satisfying ending. Maybe that's just me.
It's not just you. Blood Bound is my least favorite book in this series, primarily because Mercy went all vamp-slayer on us. Even worse, there's a 99.99% chance that's what the 4th book is going to be about - Mercy dealing with a very pissed off Marsilia.
I wondered what the fourth book would be about. No doubt, the actions from this book will be dealt with, but since each book so far has been focused on each of the magical beings in this world (werewolves, vampires, fae), I thought BONE CROSSED might have something to do with witches.
That was my hope, anyway. Can't say I'm all that worried about it, since I won't get to read it until it comes out in paperback. I'm still irritated they're making the fourth book in the series a hardcover.
Well, if you look at the titles, they hint at what part of the supernatural world we will see most (Moon Called - Werewolves, Blood Bound - Vampires, Iron Kissed - Fae). With Bone Crossed, the first thing that came to my mind was Vodun. Maybe it will be expanded outward to witches, or maybe it could be something completely different, but Bone is the hint in the title.
