Well, to clarify, I don't post fiction reviews to any of the writing-discussion groups. That's not what those groups are there for. But my take, and I could be wrong about this, is that a book that discusses writing and/or the craft of writing is fair game for such a community, because the community is about writing, and everyone there is at a different level in the craft.
My tendency, even in this journal, is to post non-fiction reviews without a cut because there's nothing to spoil, and usually, though that's not been the trend of late, they're shorter, so I don't bother with a summary/link system that I usually do for fiction books in other fiction communities. Perhaps I should, just for the sake of people who do see these posts more than once, but I suspect based on your above reasoning that'd annoy you too, because you'd be seeing the post more than once anyway. ;)
Admittedly, there has been a lot due to the project I'm working on, so I can see how it looks like I'm sort of spamming the community. Short of simply not posting the reviews or summaries/links, I don't see another way around it. I've got one book left in that particular pile, and because I think it applies, until I'm told otherwise, I would like to share the review or summary/link to the community because people join communities every day, and not all of them are going to comb through posts to see what I'd teased in the past in hopes such teases will inspire people to friend my journal.
Granted, anyone who's joined in the past month or so will see these posts, so I suppose that's not much of a REAL "worry," but it is something I consider for future posts. :)
Sorry to annoy you, though. I'll make a point in the future to at least do the summaries/links, that way it's not QUITE the same post so many times in a row. ;) (And admittedly, it's not something I think about because I use a heavy filtering system on my friends-list anyway, so it's rare that I see the same post several times in a row from other users).
