I've heard the first two books in this series were good but that the third fell into a horrible pitfall too many writers use to "develop" their female characters....

But I'll let you find that out for yourself - I'll let you decide whether you think it is a pitfall or not...

I'm still debating whether I want to read this first book but I would rather try the other Were books I've been able to find.

Good review, though.

Which is why I didn't pick up the third book. I bought book one and two at the same time, but didn't read them until about a year or so later I had purchased them. Book one was good and book two developed nicely, and after hearing the mixed reactions on book three, I'm skeptical on reading it.

I'm still skeptical about even reading book one but I may give it a shot...Although I'm afraid that if I do I'll get attached to the character and only be even more pissed off at the later books...

But I may read book one...My resistance to it is slowly weakening, lol.

lol - hey, go on Amazon.com and see why some of the reviews are one star - if you really want to...

I'm just saying - personally, I didn't like what happend and felt it was in bad taste and bad plotting in character development...But then, that's me.

If you don't want to be spoiled you had better hurry and read 2 and 3...*I can be such a tease sometimes, lol*

Don't worry. The moment I'm in vicinity of a bookstore I'm nabbing them. :)

Alllriiight - it's you're money...*lol*

Although they would probably be cheaper off of Half.com...At least that way if you don't like them you won't be as pissed off for spending so much money...

At least that's what I tell myself, lol

Interesting. Now you've got me REALLY curious. :)

I guess you can decide for yourself about this series when I read the rest of them.

Have you read any of Carrie Vaughn's stuff? If you haven't, you definitely need to start with KITTY AND THE MIDNIGHT HOUR. :)

Well, I didn't find it very interesting but then every reader has their own opinion of it...

I do have that book and I plan to read to see one take on Werewolves and I also have 'Bitten', to see that take on Werewolves as well...

It's mainly a combination of research and pleasure reading I'm doing when it comes to the portrayl of nonhumans and world-building, lol

The good thing is that both Vaughn and Armstrong do their OWN things with werewolves (and their heroines for that matter), but I wouldn't suggest reading them back to back, if that makes any sense. :)

Sounds like fun research! :)

Good - I plan on reading 'Kitty' first. ;)

lol, it can be - but a lot of times I wonder if I have enough time to do all I need to and also a bit discouraged because I seem to read so slow...

Thus: it is a good thing my classes are over for this semester *lol*
