Do you plan on reading any other books by Mr. Coelho? I have read a number of his books, some touched me, others didn't (too spirutal for my tastes) but I highly recommend The Devil and Ms. Prym.
The Witch of Portobello wasn't bad either.
Just a suggestion, The Alchemist truly did touch me and it is in my top ten. So I'm not too sure if anything else by him might touch your fancy.

Thanks for the rec. I might one day, but I'm not going to go out of my way to read his stuff. I've got too much on my bookshelf as it is! :)

I listened to the audiobook earlier this month. Were it not for the fact that Jeremy Irons was narrating the book, I would have stopped before the middle of the first disc because I found it to be very boring. It's mostly the one dimensionality of the characters and the lack of conflict that gets to me.

That makes sense. Oh, but Jeremy Irons...that would've been nice to listen to. :)

I've seen this book around too but never actually picked it up and I honestly thought it was some kind of crime/mystery novel. Oops.

Give it a whirl, it can't hurt. I'll be very curious to see your reaction. :)
