Do you plan on reading any other books by Mr. Coelho? I have read a number of his books, some touched me, others didn't (too spirutal for my tastes) but I highly recommend The Devil and Ms. Prym. The Witch of Portobello wasn't bad either. Just a suggestion, The Alchemist truly did touch me and it is in my top ten. So I'm not too sure if anything else by him might touch your fancy.
I listened to the audiobook earlier this month. Were it not for the fact that Jeremy Irons was narrating the book, I would have stopped before the middle of the first disc because I found it to be very boring. It's mostly the one dimensionality of the characters and the lack of conflict that gets to me.
