Whiskey and Water is better IMHO, though I haven't finished it yet... I still prefer her SF, though.

Hm, sounds like something that I would read as well, even though I'm not really that interested in fantasy. If the descriptions are good, and there is still a touch of realism, then I wouldn't mind giving this a shot. I also don't know much about fairies though.

Oh yes, I do love short stories, they seem to have their own mysticism, even though they may not be fantasy.

You may ought to check out INTERFICTIONS. It's rather hard to describe, but they are short stories with a touch of the fantastic (some, anyway) and sometimes magical realism.
