No new Fringe this week, and you have Thanksgiving to thank for that. But that's quite all right. I'll share my thoughts about 5.07 "Five-Twenty-Ten" on December 7th, when the next new episode, 5.08 "The Human Kind" airs.
Rather than talk about Fringe's current season, and rather than talk about the state of science fiction/fantasy/horror on television in general, I wanted to take the time to let you know about an opportunity for Fringe newbies. Granted, I am late with this information. I am sorry. But better late than never, and the good thing about the first season of Fringe is that for the first half of the season, you could drop in at any episode and ease into the show just fine.
So here's the skinny: The Science Channel has syndication rights, and on Tuesday, November 20th at 8:00 pm EST (told you I was late), they started showing the pilot and marathoning the show from there. For anyone who's either got the time and/or the DVR capability, this would be a great opportunity to get on board and see what you've been missing. It's a show that increasingly got better as the first season progressed, and then got better with each consecutive season (though I'll be honest: season three, thus far, has been the high point for me, though seasons four and five are good in their own right).
To learn more, you can visit The Science Channel's Fringe Reborn website
here without fear of any unnecessary spoilers. For schedules, I'd turn to your cable/satellite guide rather than the website's schedule, or you can visit
TV Guide.
If you get a chance to watch this show, I'd love to hear your thoughts. If you don't, I totally understand: this is the holiday season and we're totally busy. The good news is that now that The Science Channel has Fringe in syndication, it means they'll likely rerun the show over and over and over! So keep your eyes peeled, and feel free to share your thoughts!
