OMG I just finished reading this and IM SO GLAD I DID. Except for the fact I have a horrible head cold so crying into a tissue with a blocked nose is an unpleasant experience.
OMG OMG OMG this book is just fantastic, and it should be read by everyone, not filed away in the YA shelf (tho its great that teenagers should be exposed to it). I knew there was a momentous ending, but had no idea of the details.
Loved the two distinct voices, loved the themes of friendship, loved the authenticity and grit and depth, that the author was unafraid to go into the dark truths that these kind of events really contain.
Loved the reveal, and like everyone else want to go back and reread for the clues. Oh such heartbreaking stuff. Fabulous fabulous book.
The only thing that really bugged me was at the end, I was somewhat uncertain that she would come back without being thoroughly searched and the papers found, unless there was some collaboration on the flight home with some help there?
And the right way to softboil an egg is 6 min tho they may have been smaller eggs back then, who know?
