I absolutely loved this book, and I'm glad to see that it worked for you too. I've always admired John's ability to mix both humor and serious moments so well, and this book is a perfect example of that.
I hope you eventually get to Will Grayson, Will Grayson. It's not as good as this book (or Looking for Alaska), but it's a great read.
There are definitely VERY smart teens out there. I was one of them. And funnily enough, some of the people who complain about such a thing were ALSO smart teens, so that complaint makes me shake my head. :)

Actually, there were a lot of them. We got a bunch in at the store. I guess they did with John what they did with Tucker Max - ship him a bunch to sign before snatching them up and shipping them out to stores. ;D

He autographed all of the first print run of the books. Some of them have anglerfish in them drawn by his brother Hank, (well possibly some anglerfish by John but i think all of em are hanks).
John and Hank have a channel (multiple channels) really on youtube that are probably worth a peek at.
Possible spoilers in comment: I do feel like Greene absolutely nailed the voice of the sick and I guess I knew that because I am sick but somehow it still surprises me that Hazel reminded you of me. I suppose because in real life I downplay my illness and other people don't comprehend that it is actually serious. Greene is at his best with highly dramatic, melancholic stories because I loved this book, was pretty impressed with Looking for Alaska, but Paper Towns and An Abundance of Katherines, which were happier and less dramatic stories, left me disappointed
( ... )
Well, consider: you are a writer. Hazel, while not a writer, is being handled by a writer. Your illness has influenced the way you view the world, see your future, see your past, etc. Just like Hazel. :)
That is awesome that you want to get your own copy!
