Ooh, didn't realize this had come out in paperback. I love Mercy! Yes, the last few haven't been quite as good as the first few, and I don't like the Alpha and Omega books as much, but Briggs' version of werewolves is my favorite in urban fantasy :)

When you get a chance to read this, I hope you're able to come back and comment!

I have just gotten into Patricia Briggs, and I have to say that I was right with you. Bone crossed bored me to tears. However... This one saved mercy Thompson for me, and I just read the latest alpha and omega, and I think it's her best work to date.

Really? I've read mixed reviews on the third Alpha & Omega, but you're giving me a bit of hope for when it comes out in mass market next year.

Yeah I think this is one of the better books in the series. I'm curious to see where things will be going next in Frost Burned (which doesn't come out until 2013, so I guess I'll be curious for a while).

I can't wait to see the COVER for Frost Burned. It sounds like it should be pretty, based on the title. :)

I felt like this was in the "solid" territory for Briggs - she's wowed me a bit more than this, but the story was entertaining and overall I did like it. I'm happy with going back to a year between books and one series at a time too.

Solid's a good way to put it. Hopefully, Briggs is able to get back to basics and really think her storylines through, instead of trying to stick to a crazy schedule.

I agree, something about the first three novels was lost along the way. I don't do re-reads very often as I usually find myself doing a lot if skimming, but I got a lot out of re-reading the first couple of novels.

I don't know if I'll ever re-read the first three or not, but maybe if I re-read the first, I'll want to re-read the others. :)
