Weekend Update: Final Call for 2011!!!
When the Alphabet Soup book club kicked off back in 2011, I promised PRIZES. And in order to provide PRIZES, I've kept meticulous track of who's read the book club selections, who's commented in discussions, and who's reviewed the book club selections on their own. OH! I've also kept track of who's participated in the Dares.
However, that's a hard thing to keep track of without YOU, and starting in February, I'm going to start tallying everything up and using my own arbitrary system for awarding prizes. So if you want to make sure you've got the best shot at something, I'm asking you to do the following:
If you signed up for the 2011 book club, Alphabet Soup (not sure you signed up? Check the LJ cut), please visit each review found here, and make sure you've done the following:
1) Filled out that month's participation poll, even if you didn't participate.
2) If you've read the book, comment.
3) If you reviewed the book elsewhere, please provide a link.
For a list of Calico's Dares, click here, and to comment, make sure you click the link for the appropriate review. :)
Obviously, if you've already done these things, I don't need anything from you. I'm just giving you the chance to make sure you did it, because I know how easy it is to start doing something and get distracted and forget about it. All reviews I received links for will be featured in my review, if that helps.
If you didn't get to participate at all, that's okay. When book club sign-ups pop up for the beginning of a new year, it's easy to feel excited and optimistic about participating, not realizing life will most definitely get in the way, or you won't like the books selected. So don't feel bad, really.
If you didn't get to participate in certain months, again, that's okay. I'm not punishing you or anything like that. I'm not even mad! I'm glad everyone was able to participate as much as possible.
I will say that it IS too late to sign up for the 2011 book club, so if you're wanting to retroactively participate, I'm sorry. However, if you thought you signed up and your name isn't on the list below, let me know and I'll investigate.

The deadline to "catch-up" in terms of polls, comments, and reviews, is February 1st. If you were wanting to sneak a book in there, that's all well and good, but I'd rather more people focus on participating in the current book club, Theme Park. No, there's no participation points for 2012, so don't beat yourself up over it if you don't participate: it's all about reading and discussing, and you participate as you go. No sign-ups, no tracking, nothing. :) Sounds easy, right?
