Weekend Update: Santa Baby
It's hard to believe, but the holidays are upon us! If I recall, I think I posted a similar entry last year, where I asked YOU what you were really hoping you'd get for the holidays this year, particularly any book related goodies. :)
So I thought I'd do the same this year. Last year, I had a sneaking suspicion I'd get a Kindle (I was right), and I really, really, really wanted Nnedi Okorafor's Who Fears Death, which I ended up receiving as a gift. I really enjoyed the book, and I've enjoyed my Kindle too, though I'm not using it as much as I'd like (I've got a LOT of physical books in my TBR pile).
As for this year, I'm kind of drawing a blank. There's quite a few books I want, but none that I'm necessarily salivating over like I was Who Fears Death. Of course, that doesn't meant I won't be thrilled with whatever I do get, but I can't say I'll die if I get don't get a certain book (whereas I felt that way about The Hum and the Shiver, which I received for my birthday).
However, I do have a non-book related wish, something that nobody can really grant except the execs at Fox: because I have a sneaking suspicion that this fourth season of Fringe might be its last, I really, really want Fox to give it a fifth and final season so the writers can wrap up the story. It doesn't even have to be a full season, it could be a half season instead. But I really want Fringe to have a proper chance to tie up loose ends.
So if any of you happens to have any pull at Fox Networks, I'd be much obliged. ;)
