Super Blogger Roundtable: Young Adult Fiction

Dec 06, 2010 14:54

We're interrupting our regularly scheduled programming to let you know that the Super Blogger Roundtable has struck again, and this time, we're talking Young Adult Fiction. You would think that it wouldn't be much of a controversial topic, since those of us involved enjoy reading YA, but you know what happens when the below question is introduced?

MAJOR CONFLICT!!!

The television, film, video game, and music industries have all adopted some kind of rating system.  Should young adult novels also carry a rating to give teens and parents an insight into the content of a novel before they read it?

I promise, the discussion becomes vastly entertaining!

Thanks to Rebecca of Dirty Sexy Books for organizing the Roundtable and to TJ of Dreams & Speculation for hosting it.

To learn our thoughts on YA fiction (what makes it different from adult fiction, should teens read adult fiction with teen protags, and whether or not YA should have--gasp!--a rating system), please click here.

The Super Bloggers Roundtable is make up of the following:
