I haven't read a review of this book before, but I did read part of the book on the official site and wasn't impressed. It was the scene in which Luce first sees Daniel. It reminded me so much of Twilight (new girl moves into town, sees the mysterious, somewhat dangerous guy, and is instantly drawn to him ( ... )

Yeah, Shakespeare it ain't, but it's got some good stuff going for it, but it has its drawbacks too. This is very much a light-and-fluffy read best digested if you bought it cheap or got it for free. :)

oh, yeah. I wouldn't spend money on it. I've reserved it at my local library.

I thought that the book was interesting, but that the pacing was a little off. It seemed like a lot of time was spent wandering around and not getting questions answered before there was any significant action. However, I was interested enough to want to read the sequel, so as soon as my local library lists it, I'll put it on reserve. :)

Edited to add: As a matter of comparison, you might want to read Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. Also a "fallen angel" book, with the sequel (Crescendo) coming out in November.

You're right about the wandering. It didn't bug me TOO much, but if probably would've a LOT if the book had dragged for me.

I've heard of HUSH, HUSH. Mixed reviews on that one, and the cover doesn't seduce me into checking it out. Thoughts?

I'd put Hush, Hush as about on par with Fallen. There was a little more action in HH, and the angel had a bit more of the "bad boy" about him. I think I liked the setting of HH a bit more, because it wasn't confined to a small area like it was in F. The heroine in HH seemed a little less of the "OMG SAVE ME" female main character, and was a bit more active in her own salvation (and a bit more active into getting into trouble without any help, but that's another story). :)

I also just thought of another series that you might find interesting... the Remy Chandler series by Thomas Sniegoski. Not YA, and the main character is an angel who has chosen to live as a human but is NOT a fallen angel.

Sometimes, I just want PRINTS of the art used, you know? Maybe even with the title design and all!

Great review. I read it a while back and despite all the flaws or that I felt the author could have done more, I ate the book up and have already pre-ordered the next book ;O).
I might have already mentioned this recommend but if you get a chance try reading, The Red Necklace. If you like it or love it (like i do), you can follow up with the sequel, The Silver Blade.

Oddly, I have the audio of this book in my car right now. I didn't even finish listening to the second CD; I got bored, and I agree with the comments about wandering. Lack of tension. Shadows. Yeah. So what? Not enough to keep me listening.

This book does not strike me as a book you'd be interested in. :) But what HAVE you been reading lately?
