Happy List Day!
There are a lot of little things I want to bring to your attention or mention, so today, you're getting a list.
1) For those of you reading this blog from my journal page (or when you go to my blog to comment), please notice the column on the left where you will now see the books I've read and/or am reading that will be reviewed soon. I'm stupidly pleased by this capability, and will shamelessly admit I ganked the idea from
Dirty Sexy Books. :)
If you want to see what I mean, just click
here.
2) On June 30th, I'll be guest-blogging over at the wonderful
genrereviews, so when Wednesday comes around, hop on over (though my posts, as usual, will probably be in the evening). I'm going to discuss what happens to readers when publishers don't honor the completion of a series, and why publishers should be ashamed of themselves. It's going to be a deep topic. ;)
Edit: the guest-blog is live! Read "To Completion" (ha!)
here.
3) I'm gearing up to start some pre-work on the 2011 Book Club, which will be structured a bit differently than this year's, but will hopefully be just as fun/useful/whatever-it-is-to-you. :) Such pre-work will be outside of the usual Maintenance Monday posts, so forgive me when you see a non-review post, okay?
4) Speaking of reviews, my reading has slowed down of late. Part of it's because I'm reading books that demand I slow down, and part of it's that my reading time's been chewed into so I'm not going through quite as many titles as I used to. I just wanted to make sure that was on the record so that you all know I haven't disappeared when only one review shows up in a week.
5) Even though you really don't care, I've created a list of FUTURE TOPICS to discuss here at Maintenance Monday. If you're not afraid, you should be. It's bad enough that I make notes on post-its and stick them in the books I'm reading, but making notes for future columns? That's just crazy! :)Book Club Selections
June:
Sunshine by Robin McKinley
July:
Summon the Keeper by Tanya Huff
August:
Palimpsest by Catherynne M. Valente
Robin's Guest Blog: Read it
here, especially once you finish reading Sunshine! It's a lot of fun, and don't worry, there's no spoilers. :)

FAVOR!! When I review a book you've read and reviewed yourself, would you kindly provide a link to your review in the comments of mine? I love seeing what others think, and sometimes I see those reviews when they're originally posted, but don't read them as I don't want to spoil myself on something I know I'll read in the future. The problem, then, is I often forget to go back and read the reviews I missed! So please, if you've reviewed something I'm reviewing, shoot a link my way. :)
