I'm the same way with romance in general. My problem is I'm not sure my issues are wholly me (busy week, etc), the book itself, or a mix of both.

Did you post a review of this one? I don't remember seeing it.

"Reyes has nothing but his work. Pity for Kyra, he’s the best and mercy never sways him once he takes a job."

The premise strikes me as unbelievable. That description makes him sound like a sociopath, and such a hit man isn't going to fall in love with his target. Sociopaths in general do not have very healthy relationships.

You're the second person who's made that kind of comment. But not all killers are sociopaths, even those who are paid to do so. Here's what I said to the first person who made the remark:

Here's the thing though: Reyes doesn't just kill ANYONE, but people who deserve it. He's very picky about the contracts he chooses, and because of that, the people who hire him have to doctor up Kyra's file by saying she's so bad she murdered her own father. Once Reyes realizes the truth, that she's not a deserving target, then it gets interesting.

That's a good observation. I was too lazy to try and summarize the book myself, so I let the blurb do it for me, but that's an excellent point you make. :)
