I have to be honest and say that I didn't actually believe the Trickster would actually sleep with Griane. She almost gives herself to him in the first novel, so I was thinking the same thing would happen in BLOODSTONE. When he really follows through, it was a surprise--and not in a good way, but I think that's what was intended

Hee hee! The only complaint about the HEARTWOOD cover is that it's in the middle of winter, and the artist portrays Darak wearing only a loincloth!
Oh, thanks for reminding me about the adders! I quite enjoyed those scenes too. And you're right about Keirith's spirit guide being such a deadly creature. I liked how Nartha, the guide, was presented in such a way to be welcoming, you know?
