I'm going to have to say I don't like the cover because I'd have no idea this book was a space opera romance if your review hadn't mentioned it. I probably would have ignored it as Yet Another Urban Fantasy.

I'll keep an eye out for book one; I loved Firefly and Farscape!

GRIMSPACE is a space opera, with some romance, but told from a more UF voice. The tension is fantastic in GRIMSPACE, and the story is pretty good too. If you do read the books, let me know your thoughts!

This is definitely a series you have to read in order. But oh, it's such a good series. I could hardly book the book down!

I'm going to read that book because it's Aguirre, but that's the only reason. I hate the cover with a passion that I'm almost tempted not to get it.

"And her solution to help him? Absolutely-frakking-brilliant."

This. I loved it. It hits just the perfect balance, helping just enough without becoming a deus ex machina.

janicu and I had an enthusiastic, spoileriffic squeefest once she finished the book. Because it is that good.

I was so, so pleased with this. It did strike such a perfect balance, and I'm sorry I have to wait a year for the next!

Wow. These books have been compared to Firefly a lot, which I never really watched. I have now seen a few episodes and the movie, but at the time I wrote the first book, I hadn't.

Farscape, on the other hand, was such a huge favorite of mine that I have no words to articulate my love. So for you to compare my books favorably to Farscape -- I am totally having a 'Wayne & Garth, I'm not worthy' moment.

The whole point of this series is to bring SF to people who ADORE the SF films and TV shows but find SF in books a bit too dry and technical. I wanted to incorporate the magic of character-driven SF TV shows into my books & if you think I've done that, then I couldn't be happier.

You are TOTALLY WORTHY. I was finally able to articulate what it is you do with these books, namely what you said I wanted to incorporate the magic of character-driven SF TV shows into my books, and you totally do it. I plan on creating a list of SF for people to read who want to be introduced to the genre but are too intimidated, and you're definitely on it. :)

Oddly, I've seen all of FIREFLY and only a handful of FARSCAPE episodes. I really need to correct the latter. :)

I have no words to describe my love of Farscape either and I'm so glad to know you are a fan! I've been rewatching it lately and started reading the comics and fell in love all over again. I think you've done an awesome job translating SF TV to print, if that makes sense.

BTW, Ann, I just got Blue Diablo today. I'm not much of an urban fantasy reader but I love your SF so much I thought I'd give it a try. I'm really looking forward to buying Doubleblind next week too.

calico_reaction, I think you will love Farscape since it has an amazing romance at its heart. So many romantic SF writers say the Aeryn and John romance is their favorite of anything in print or on film.

I hope you like Blue Diablo! I just got fanmail today from a man in TX who said he generally reads military SF & Jax, but he decided to give Corine a chance because the new Jax doesn't come out until next week. Turns out he really enjoyed it. So I've got people who don't usually read SF reading Jax and people who don't usually read UF reading Corine. I'm pretty happy with that.

And I so agree that Aeryn & John were the best romance ever. "Do you love Aeryn Sun?" "Beyond hope." *dies*

Good to hear that this one lives up to the others! It's next on my list to read. :)
