Interesting. I really enjoyed this book. Yes its a bit slow to start off with, but once it gets into the action, its a rollercoaster ride. I enjoyed the plot twists and I thought it was a clever overall story concept. I think for you to get the impact of the end, you have to do a bit of Clan of the Cave Bear trudging through a large info dump. And yes some of the characters are a bit annoying, but it *does* get better in my opinion
RE: second cover - it's that TOR thing again. They just can't resist ugly typeface! Someone should teach them about "subtlety"!

You may actually like it. So far, I'm the first person I've come across who didn't have the patience. :) But if you check it out, I'd suggest your local library. :)
