Okay, there's enough people INTERESTED in a monthly book challenge that I'd like to try and get something rolling for the month of September. But that means I need YOUR help ASAP, because I'd like to get the poll up before the end of the month so you all can vote and have the title of the book for September.
I'm still brainstorming themes, as well as corresponding books. What I'd like from you is a theme (or multiple themes) and books you'd like to see on that theme's list. It can be something really general, like "Urban Fantasy", or something really specific, like "Science Fiction that doesn't leave the confines of Earth". That's just genre categories. You could also create themes based on authors "Authors of Color," "Women Writing SF," or existing lists ("2009 Hugo Nominees"). Also, some of you expressed interest in using the list of books I'd read in a certain month, so we can, at times, do that too, though of course, that means I can't read the book with you. :)
At any rate, lay it on me. If you have an idea for a theme, at least give me a book that would fit as example. You don't have to provide a full list, just something I can base it off of. The themes I used as examples in this post are also fine, but be sure to give me suggestions. :)
And for the record, the actual poll, when posted, will have around five to six titles to choose from. No more than six, but no less than four. Clear as mud? Good!
Please note, I'm also brainstorming as well, but hearing your suggestions is a great way to kick-start my brain. :)
