Book Bag

Aug 15, 2009 22:38

We're going to try the "book bag" feature for a while. And by "for a while" I mean until people stop showing interest and/or I get bored doing it. :) Fair enough? I'm going to play with formatting too, so if I happen upon a formatting that you REALLY like, please drop me a comment and let you know ( Read more... )

This is a great post. Thank you. I look forward to more like it.

Those Ursula LeGuin books are beautiful. They look like the kind of books that just help make your bookshelves beautiful. (I'm a total sucker for beautiful cover art.)

I grabbed Starfish when it was available as a free download. Every now and then I see it and think "interesting" but something else always pulls my attention away. I'll look forward to your review whenever you get to it.

Regarding the Le Guin: aren't they though? I've been coveting them for YEARS. Her stuff is the sort of thing I want on my shelf, even if the book or collection isn't successful in my eyes, you know?

STARFISH is still available on Watt's website, but I can't force myself to read such a lengthy work on my computer screen. It's part snobbery, and part logical: I do manuscript crits solely on my computer, so reading stuff on the screen automatically makes me more critical. :)

I can understand that about the computer screen. I'm sure I couldn't do it at all. I read on a PDA, which works well for me.

Hotlinking what, the images? I hope not, since I uploaded them to my Photobucket account. :)

Yay! Glad to hear you're giving the rest of Vatta War a try. The tech in that series is pretty interesting and how it's used in battles is even more interesting.

Oh oops. Sorry. Meant to post as a separate comment. I apologize for the mix up.

No prob!

Re: Vatta's War, I didn't dislike the first book, I think I rated it four stars on LibraryThing, but it didn't hook me emotionally. I don't mind giving the rest of the series a shot, especially since I'm borrowing it. :)
