I'm pretty sure it's this piece of music - Adagio in G minor. It's the piece of music Albinoni is most famous for, although he doesn't seem to have actually written it.
The book talked about that too, in the very first chapter. I found this piece on iTunes, but I got confused because I was listening for a cello solo, not something like this. :)
