Wow, so...
I graduated.
So you probably don't want to hear the bragging, but I want to gloat so here goes: I graduated with a 3.9 (ok, 3.887), summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. I looked like a war hero at the grad ceremonies because I had a white stole for Newcomb Scholars, a red stole for Sigma Tau Delta (English national honor frat), green and blue honor cords for Tulane honors, red-white-gold honor cords for Alpha Lambda Delta (honor frat), pink and blue honor cords for Phi Beta Kappa (oldest frat in the USA, I got in because I was in the top 6% / 52 people of my graduating class), a Newcomb decal on my cap, a Newcomb class of 2007 pin, and an Oak Wreath pin - plus the Tulane Commencement Mardi Gras beads they gave everyone. After three semesters in a row of getting a 4.0, I had a teacher who decided she hated me for some weird reason and she gave me a B. Ridiculous? I think so. Doesn't matter, I still got summa cum laude, which was my goal that I decided on when I was graduating high school. By the way, did I mention I passed/got an A on my THESIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thesis = doom, but I still love mine. It's called "The Moment In Time: Carpe Diem in Three Selected Literary Texts" (quirky subtitle: "Quick! Let's Have Sex Before We Die!"). 12 family members and a baby all flew to New Orleans for my graduation, and we had a blast. The weather was perfect and we ate fabulous NOLA food and drank a lot, what else can you ask of a city? Ellis Marsalis and two of his sons (Delfio and Jason, not Branford and Wynton :- ( ) jammed with some other jazz greats at the commencement ceremony. Where else does THAT happen? I love this city! On that note, I'm still here. Not going back to CT, at least not for now. I've moved into a shotgun house with some girls I've known since freshman year, and the job search begins today. In other news, there's a new man in my life. It's scary to say it, but I think I might be falling...
I'm at the beginning of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I'm ready for this adventure.
