Bowling For Columbine

Charlton Heston: (At an National Rifles Association meeting) I have only five words for you: FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS!
--------------------------------------------------
Thank you Hae-Joon for your recommendation. Great documentary.
I watched "Bowling For Columbine" with my daddy. He's pretty conservative about most issues (except strangely, gay rights) and way Republican. I'm extremely left and an absolute Democrat. Good times. It's been too long since he and I have had an educated, informed discussion.
It was strange that we actually agreed on some issues. But I guess when it comes to common decency, most people do agree, but rarely the right people. I do, nonetheless, now wish i was Canadian. Or shagging Marilyn Manson.
--------------------------------------------------
Marilyn Manson: The two by-products of that whole tragedy were, violence in entertainment, and gun control. And how perfect that that was the two things that we were going to talk about with the upcoming election. And also, then we forgot about Monica Lewinsky and we forgot about, uh, the President was shooting bombs overseas, yet I'm a bad guy because I, well I sing some rock-and-roll songs, and who's a bigger influence, the President or Marilyn Manson? I'd like to think me, but I'm going to go with the President.
--------------------------------------------------
And then there was the moment my daddy said, "I shot one of these when I was in the army." It was an M-somethingorother. Yeah, that's my daddy, stationed on the side of the Berline Wall opposite the Americans. It's too bad we're not a more open family, I'm quite curious. But that was my goal in English today, to learn about my parents' upbringings before I move out.
