There is no better feeling than the feeling you get when you are getting over a bad cold. Even though you still feel gross, the feeling is a welcome one, indeed. That drippy, melty, half-congestedness that goes on in your sinuses that lets you know that your body is ridding itself of the debris and dead soldiers in a war that has been waged in your immune system against the formidable common cold virus is wonderful after the days spent bearing the cross-fire of the battles. The aching, the skin tender to the touch of clothing, the fevers, coughing, inability to brethe through your nose, loss of appetite even though you HAVE to eat SOMETHING, the nausea, etc. The symptoms are not the important part of this reflection. The point is that no one likes to feel icky.
The sickness itself, however, is not exactly icky or gross, the feeling is a gross feeling but you don't feel gross yourself. but afterwards during the clean-up period, you do feel somewhat disgusting. But the feeling is welcome because you know that the war is over and that you will be able to get some rest the next night without worrying about the stressful dreams waking you up every 45 minutes. Waking up the next morning with a neck so stiff, you can't bend over to put on your shoes, a migraine so big you don't want to move to use the bathroom. Oh, what a wonderful, disgusting feeling it is!
I'm just happy that not only will I be able to see my wiccan friends in Brandon tomorrow (who I was supposed to see today for a potluck dinner) but that come Monday when everyone gets back to campus, I will be fit as a whistle to see everyone and distribute hugs (kisses where applicable) and stories. I'll steal the Hoopla game from Tim and Ken too because watching Jay do charades just... makes me smile... real BIG!!! (MOSH PIT!!!)(PUNK!!!)*Smiles*
Speaking of Jay, he's leaving tomorrow, theoretically, to get here on Monday. Hmmm, I'm thinking the number he gave me is his house number because his mum answered it last time I called. So hopefully he'll call me from his hotel room. (hint hint, if you read this tonight. if you don't it's okay. just know that I was thinking about you during your trip and sending good vibrations your way:-)>
Just to let you guys know, that I wrote all of the above as one, continuous, run-on paragraph. Only after I typed this, did I separate thoughts into coherant groups.
Anyway, so I bleached the green out of my head because I had colored it green in Carrabelle after dying it strawberry blonde. So I wanted to get the red out. Tomorrow comes the fun part! Yay! Even though I'll probably never wear it up (except once or twice.) I'll most definitely be going to class with a hat on especially Chorale and Opera Theatre.
OH!!! I'm learning the Pathetique sonata!!! It's the first flashy Beethoven sonata that I've ever felt comfortable with. The second movement sucks ass but the first and third movements kick it! I'm learning the first movement first and I hope to have the first repeat down before my first piano lesson. If you have no clue what that sonata is, I definitely reccomend downloading at least a midi of it online. It's Sonata No. 8, Pathetique by Beethoven. It takes a minute or two to get out of the slow beginning but after that, it rocks. seriously!
