Trinidadian Stomachs...
So yeah. I'm at home...watching the World Cup while prepping to leave for work...rooting for Trinedad to Upset the Feckin' English!
Just a minute ago I watched as one of the players from Trinedad got injured. I really hard kick sent the ball flying right into him and it hit him squarely in his lower midsection...He fell to the ground screaming and crying...rolled over on his back...reached his hand down his pants and began massaging something...
The commentator Marcello Balboa (Yay Aztecs! I watched him play when I was 10) commented that "the ball appeared to have hit him in his midsection...which can really hurt sometimes...cause the ball will hit you right in the stomach and knock the wind out of you..."
I was astounded! I didn't know that Trinedadian males kept their stomachs inside their testicles! This is a wonder of medical science! Because from what I saw...in the two seperate shots that had of it...was a man reaching in his pants and holding his bait-n-tackle...
So yeah...medical wonders never cease! And hooray for awkward situations in sports commentating.
