it's close to paradise, with the end surely near.
i promised that i would write a little commentary on 2004 and how it was so special and wonderful and better than every other year of my life so far. and it was. but i'm far too lazy to relive everything.
but one of my resolutions was to get to know people better. so i've decided that you should get to know me better, too. well, that and i'm procrastinating. on we go...
1. hi, my name is lindsay. whatever, you probably knew that..
2. i've lived in the same house since the day i came home from the hospital.
3. i think i live a very sheltered life. i somewhat like it and the rest of me resents it.
4. my mom teaches special ed and once one of the kids asked me to go to their prom. so yes, i attended a special ed prom.
5. my dad has an incredibly awesome tattoo of burning cannabis from his stoner days.
6. my dad's mom was native american (blackfoot) and was adopted by a german family.
7. and she practiced black magic.
8. she had two boa constrictors and i remember one of them. its name was barbara.
9. she lived with my grandpa and also had a live-in boyfriend. how southern.
10. i remember when i was about 3 years old, after her funeral, i went into her bathroom and i shaved my face.
11. i took dance lessons for around 11 years and i was on a competing dance team.
12. when i was in first grade, i made up my mind that jeans were for boys and stretchy pants were for girls.
13. my greatest accomplishment was winning the office of class mayor and beating two boys in the process.
14. i have a terrible singing voice.
15. i share my birthday with one of my closest friends and her equally awesome twin sister.
16. i'm really into astrology.
17. i'm on the cusp of aries and pisces, fire and water signs. so i generally have pretty conflicting opinions.
18. my family is fucked up.
19. i used to go to counseling. and i probably still should. but i don't.
20. my mom and my two uncles know the magician david copperfield. and one of the guys from "welcome back kotter" and the guy who created "tiny toons." hah.
21. i'm really OCD sometimes.
22. right now, i really should be doing questions for humanities. i don't give a flying fuck about that class.
23. i love purses and belts.
24. i call flipflops "click clacks" because that's apparently what french people call them.
25. right now, my butt hurts but i don't know why.
26. i have no idea what i want to be when i grow up.
27. i have a really hard time trusting people. and i can be incredibly paranoid.
28. i know a HUGE secret about one of my friends and (s)he has no clue. and if (s)he found out, (s)he would probably never talk to me again.
29. i'm addicted to reality tv despite its stupidity.
30. it's hard for me to let go and be spontaneous.
31. in 2004, i went out with two boys. one of them, i kind of regret.
32. my mom rented the garden state dvd today. it was such a beautiful film, i watched it twice.
33. i keep a list of things i want to do before i die.
34. i have three subscriptions to teeny bopper magazines and i still read every issue cover to cover.
35. i have five screen names, but i don't really know why.
36. i don't look one bit like either one of my parents.
37. i have thirteen pairs of click clacks.
38. without a doubt, my best friend ever is lori.
39. sometimes it's crazy how alike we are.
40. i was a so-called "late bloomer."
41. my right thumb is double jointed.
42. there's a scar the size of a quarter on one of my knees from me tripping on uneven sidewalk.
43. i'm probably one of the clumsiest people you'll ever meet.
44. on one occasion, i drank rubbing alcohol, but it was completely an accident and one of the most disgusting things i've ever experienced.
45. in eupope, i would wear a size 39 shoe.
46. i know they exist, but i've never met anyone with my middle name.
47. i'm not afraid of the dark, but i'm awfully afraid of what could be in the dark.
48. i love underwear.
49. i'm incredibly lucky and i love life right now.
50. i'm really looking forward to 2005.
