oh happiness
oh fantastic joy
tonight was my recital, i went and danced and felt so free. i screamed on stage and i grinned like a fool
i was an 80s workout girl and a fairy. i was sexy in leather and i was roxy. i was a student and a teacher. i felt the pride of having students and the pride of being one. to make someone so proud and so happy with something i've done...oh happiness...oh fantastic joy...
tonight i was told that i looked happy, that i haven't smiled this much in awhile. and i owe it all to dance. to my family who came out and to my friends who i would be nothing without.
tonight i had closure. i got to watch and kids i've grown to love over 10 months turn into such wonderful dancers and to know them so well. to meet parents and have them proud of me.
tonight i knew my mom was there. she was the most important guest. she was there from the first moment i was on stage to the last, and even after. she was a part of me and i'm so proud of that.
tonight i was appreciated, hard work was thanked.
tonight i am happy.
