Oh, I loved this episode!
- Crowley was wicked, and I would love to see more of him. Although, I'm doubting that will happen. *sigh* I do love the idea of some of the demons joining Team Winchester against Lucifer though. The idea that they've all been trying to kill each other for the past 4 years, and now they might have to work together to stop Lucifer is sooo cool.
- Once again, Mark blew me away with his portrayal of Lucifer. Although I realized something while watching him tonight that gave me chills... His Lucifer almost reminds me of a white supremacist. Maybe not as blatant, but pretty close. Angels are the 'pure' race and all others are trash. When he snorted and said, "What? They're just demons," my breath hitched. I'm starting to think that the Winchesters might be able to use that against Lucifer, and get some of the demons working with them. After all it's like Crowley said... they are even lower than humans on the food chain. It would be self preservation.
- I absolutely loved Castiel in this episode. I was kind of reminded of Castiel when he was first introduced in Season 4. He was calm, collected and completely in control the entire episode - even when he wasn't. Even when he was drinking with Ellen, he seemed amused, but not goofily so. And watching him talk to Lucifer and tell him that he wouldn't let him have Sam... It just helped remind me why I fell in love with the character in the first place. (not to mention that Misha looks absolutely gorgeous bathed in orange firelight... ;)
- I pretty much knew they were coming, but Jo and Ellen's deaths hurt. I wasn't as broken up about Jo, but when Ellen decided to stay, I just started bawling. It was such a tender moment. I'm glad they got a good send off, and got to go out fighting. They deserved it.
- Can I just say that I was sooo relieved that Bobby made it though the episode? I spent most of the episode ready to bawl because I was positive Bobby was dying. I firmly blame this on Jim Beaver, and his tweets:
@jumblejim: It's been a fun trip for 4 1/2 years, SPN fans. Bobby says thanks for the ride. Till we meet again.
@jumblejim: oh, jeez, I thought it was over. oh, shoot, i didn't set the clock back in this room. sorry.
The man is cruel. XD
