So...after watching all this stuff about NASA and spaceflight and the Apollo missions...I'm watching Flight of the Navigator, one of my favorite movies as a kid, and the "bad" guys are NASA. For the first time, I noticed this:
You know, I actually made an allusion to this movie the other day. I was describing my old, cheap, undeniably ugly bike helmet to someone. And the only way I could describe it was the ship from "Flight of the Navigator" BEFORE it gets all slick and pointy and fast. When it's just that covering shell, my head in helmet resembles it entirely.
Heh, you know you have a point, it does look like a bike helmet doesn't it? Or a big silver walnut. I've always loved that ship design though, and it's amazing how well the effects hold up when you rewatch it :) The science in it though...man, I'm glad I fell in love with this film as a kid when I didn't know any better... I don't think even the Enterprise at warp 10 could go 570 light years in 2 hours. Oi :P *is thinking way too much*
