All right, so I really did enjoy Harry Potter...up through about book 5 (let it be noted for posterity that I'm one of the few people I know who actually likes the fifth book and thought Harry's angst was somewhat believable given what the kid had been through up to that point. Besides which, it's sadly common for kids once they get hormones to morph into Entitlement Brats you want to smack upside the head with something very heavy. And if anyone was destined to end up like that, it's Harry. But I digress.)
The sixth and seventh books on the other hand....argh. Just ARGH, on so many levels. After all that buildup and tension the kids go on a big angsty camping trip, Voldemort trips over his own wand and dies, Gandalf Dumbledore's an asshole and Snape becomes the most interesting character in the whole series. Yay Snape. Still doesn't mean Harry should have named his freakin' kid after you. WTF? In fact that entire epilogue should be shredded as the worst ending to a book EVER. I've read better fanfiction.
And before anyone freaks out about spoilers, seriously if you don't know how HP ended by now...yeah, I'll just leave it at that.

p.s. I did actually stand in line for the release of most of the Harry Potter books, became sort a tradition with ranma151773012, and it was fun :) Doesn't mean I can't laugh at myself after the fact ;)
