Quick apology & update
I know none of you are likely to be holding your breath, but I wanted to apologize for not having finished my promised story yet. I'm about halfway through (about 3,000 words), making slow & steady progress, but it's rough going right now.
We got the bad news about Tino on Friday afternoon. The tumor has already spread into his brain, so they couldn't operate. He's going through palliative radiation therapy. It's supposed to not have any significant side effects but instead to lessen some of the things that are hurting him and hopefully prevent it from spreading. They're hoping it will be possible for him to eat again on his own (he's not eating right now, though he was eating for us--with time & care--before we took him in). They've inserted a feeding tube. We visited him on Sunday for a few hours and he was very frightened. We're going to be able to bring him home Tuesday night. We're redoing the bedroom so he can stay in there without being bothered by the other cats...trying to arrange things so that he can get around better & such (he's so dizzy he can't jump without falling).
I probably won't post much more about this. It makes me too sad. I just wanted to let you know what's going on.
