I remember being so impressed when I moved here, how easy it was to park. One of my favorite Portland stories used to be how I went to the hardware store in Sellwood for the first time, and the entire block in front of the store was not-parked-on, and I thought, Oh, it's a no-parking zone. So I went around the block and parked on a side street, walked back to the store--only to see someone parked there, because it was an entire block of parking spaces.

I don't think that would be true today.
