I never really said much about the movie other than a mash of feelings, did I?
Observations:
- Maria Hill seems like the Pepper Potts of Nick Fury. Is Coulson the Jarvis?
- Clint shoots people like he's drawing a bow. SORT OF A BAD HABIT, HAWKEYE.
- "Up in his nest as usual."
- "Well, I see better from a distance."
- "You have heart."
- "I am Loki, of Asgard, and I am burdened with glorious purpose."
- I am so pleased that Tom Hiddleston has done such a brilliant job of Loki. I'm glad he's not some flat, tiredly raving lunatic like a lot of baddies tend to become in big films. I just eat up every moment that Loki's on screen, and Hiddles (everyone, but) has done such an amazing job of making such a thoroughly beautiful, broken and complex character for me to not only recognize as a villain, but sympathize with and hate that he's a villain. UGH.
- Ah, Natasha Romanoff. You sexy, amazing HBIC. 'Barton's been comprimized.'
- Coulson. You perfect man. Listening to Nat clean up house.
- I find it curious, the relationship thing that Widow has with Bruce. I think it's really clever that the first time we see him, he's looking into the mirror. Mark just. Ugh, Bruce Banner is my absolute favourite character in this movie, I don't know he did it, but it's true. I think it's the whole soft spoken thing, calm on the surface - fire underneath, all that. Prrr.
- "I'm sorry, that was mean. I just wanted to see what you would do."
- Cap, so much PTSD and so much loneliness. Still a soldier.
- "You should've left it in the ocean."
- Iiiii am neither here nor there on Tony/Pepper, but I really like this specific incarnation of them. I was worried that Pepper was going to lose all her kicky keep-Tony-in-place, but she's still lovely.
- "People might just need a little old fashioned."
- When I heard Loki's hair being described as 'feral' I was worried it was going to be gross blah hair, but it's actually really lovely.
- "Really, they want me in a submerged, pressurized container?"
- Bruce and Steve are so cute. Bruce's dry sense of humour is my favourite. Favourite.
- YAY GEEK TALK. BANNERRRRRR.
- "I need a distraction, and an eyeball." The shake-fwip to open the bow makes me laugh every time.
- "The Soldier, the man out of time."
- "I'm not overly fond of what follows."
- "DO I LOOK TO BE IN A GAMING MOOD."
- "Who controls the would-be king?"
- "I'm listening." You bb brother brat. XD
- I wonder what Loki's thinking about, sitting up there on the ridge watching Thor fight. I think that Tony and Thor fighting is a little silly, but it's pretty much meant to be a pissing match and I love it. I think it might be why Tony and Thor are such bros later on. HEADCANON whatever.
- SCIENCE BROOOOOOOOOS. Yes, I'm one of those people.
- I love that Steve broke into the storage room to check things out. My worries that he was going to be more UltimatesSteve than 616Steve didn't come true. This pleases me greatly, because I loved him in the Cap movie and I wanted to keep loving him in this.
- "Why do I get the feeling that he's the only person on this boat who wants to be here."
- "Love is for children, I owe him a debt."
- You go, Nat, play the female sterotypes and get Loki's plan. I love how I can't tell how much is truth and how much is a lie, and I can't tell how she feels about it. I've been reading her issues,
- "I've got red in my ledger, I'd like to wash it out." / "Can you?"
- BOW FWIP
- "I got low." I can't get over how horrified Tony looks about this.
- I just. I wonder if Nat's weirdness with Bruce early on is just to foreshadow her interaction with the Hulk later on.
- "It seems to run on some form of electricity." I love the exasperated little sigh, like great more tech I don't know anything about.
- I love Thor for trying to talk to the Hulk. I feel like he was really understated in this movie, but he's just so lovely. It must be so hard for him, everything he has to do, with defending earth and fighting his brother, and UGH Thor.
- Have I said yet how I love that Steve uses guns? I love that Steve uses guns. It's different from how he's painted in the comics and generally in fandom, and I know it's because
- WIDOW VS HAWKEYE 8DDDDDDD What a sexy fight, jesus. Clint's confused little 'Natasha?' made me make the most unattractive noises.
- I only have mild Pheels. I know that's not how it should be, but like. It was played up a lot, and it just made me side-eye Fury more than usual. I mean really. Be more obvious. 'Heroes' and 'old fashioned convention,' really?
- NEKKIDBRUCE
- I am so, so glad that Nat and Clint got that med room scene, too. GOD I LOVE THEM TOGETHER JESUS THIS MOVIE. "You're a spy, not a soldier." STOP MAKING ME WANT AKDFASDF WINTER SOLDIER BETTER FIX MY FEELS.
- I read some meta about the 'we are not soldiers'
- "Son, just don't." I might secretly have a thing for Steve calling people 'son'. 8D;
- I've heard some theories about much control is placed over Loki by the spacealiendudes, and I think it's an interesting point that Tony makes about making the Avengers angry, pissed off and personal. I'm a fan of redeemed!Loki, so I like to think it's him giving the earth a fighting chance, but I can't seem to get my fandom goggles off on that. Especially after his and Thor's chat on Stark Tower. But I always want the brother to be redeemed, and the only movie series that actually gave that to me was Wrath of the Titans and UAGHHGHGH ZEUS AND HADES BABIES. /off topic
- The big fight scene was perfect. All of it. Enough said. I cried when the Avengers Assemble theme started playing. This fight was beautiful.
- "Where's banner, has he shown up yet?"
- Augh, like he says 'it's too late' but then the look on his face when Thor's all brotherly unti
- God, I cried when Steve made his big comeback and was all LIBERTY AND JUSTICE on top of that taxi cab, and the cop was just like 'yep, okay, done and done'. CRIES.
- Natasha + energystaff = OTP
- HEY BRUCE, YOU MADE GOOD TIME ♥ Also, this is totally heartbreaking when he makes the transformation. "That's my secret, Captain. I'm always angry." Uuuuuuuuugh.
- Fuck, the theme started. Literally, me right now - ;_; Captain taking charge, everyone falling in, augh oh god, now I'm just going to be a mess until the end of the movie. Here we go.
- Watching Thor on Empire State just makes me want Thor/Storm team up.
- Clint and Tony banter ♥
- Also, oh god, the energy pulse on the shield, and everyone just working together, and oh god, it's right off a comic page. You should've seen me playing Ultimate Marvel (1&2), just crying of joy forever. Also XMen
- It really wasn't fair, Bruce catching Tony. AUGH FEELS TOO MANY.
- STEVE. YOU WEAR A FREAKING HELMET INTO BATTLE BUT NOT RIDING YOUR BIKE? Jfc, boy.
