various and sundry
I have to work in six hours. It would normally be my last day in this run of shifts, but a few weeks ago, I thought that maybe picking up Sunday for OT would be a good idea. SELF.
I'd mentioned to my manager that my temp period was ending just before Christmas, and had wondered if I should be keeping an eye on job postings. Everyone in my area starts as temp and then if things are great, they sort of just keep you on the schedule. XD Our current schedule is listed for up until November, so I wasn't sure if that was the case with me. I MOMENTARILY PANICKED OKAY XD But she basically said don't worry about it and that I'd be in my job in the new year, so huzzah to me. :3
This means I'm going to look for an apartment in the spring, but it's difficult I think, since Regina (where I live!) is the third city in Canada with the lowest vacancy percentage. That's ridiculous! I've been keeping an eye on apartment ads, so maybe I'll get lucky and find something that won't break my wallet or be in a sketchy neighbourhood. Not that we have anything seriously sketchy, but there are some places I would just rather not live, you know? We'll see - I still have all winter before then, and I should have a nice bit saved up for a place. Here's hoping I find a place with utilities and parking. >_> WE SHALL SEE.
I went to a decentralized dance party last Sunday! 8D SO FUN. I was pretty wiped before it was over, though, but it was pretty sweet timess~ It was a great feeling, and I couldn't help thinking that maybe this time last year I wouldn't have went, I would've been too shy to just dance on my own with a bunch of people, even if I went with jetfuelgenius, and haliation's boy. It's nice to get a little reminder of personal growth ♥ There was a few times where I had to remind myself don't feel shy - everyone's here to dance, but they were fleeting.
I really love dancing. I really really do.
I signed up for mer_ficathon ages ago and a lonely little document's been sitting in my google docs, but SUDDENLY this plot hit me and, of course, I've either been working or sleeping to go back to work, so NO TIME TO WRITE IT. But I'm super excited about it, and I'll probably only submit the beginning mer stuff for the fest, as most of it doesn't...really deal with mer. 8D;
It's all Kurt Wagner's fault. You can blame him. Cheeky bastard.
stardustcities and I are writing this burlesque Charles/Erik thing for xmenbigbang and I'm in love with pretty much anything we write, ngl. We're rewriting at the moment, and I'm going to handle Erik a bit differently, I think, maybe give him a sharper stare or something. IDK. We'll have words, he and I.
