I've been a little absent online lately, but it's due to all the hours I've been given at work. Weird shifts, like 7A-12P...we were down two framers, so augh. I've also been trying to get the full-time position, and I've been informed, unofficially (shh, it's a secret) that I got it, so \o/ on that one. It's a Sunday-Thursday job, nine to five, and that'll be different for me, but at least I get the beginning of the weekend off, so \o/ again.

Working on a full set of costume renderings for Romeo and Julliet for my costume design class, plus a critique on the university presentation of Medea, which was actually pretty fantastic. It was two and a half hours long, but it really didn't seem it. The lead was really well done, and the dialogue wasn't as dreadful as I thought it would be - apparently my conceptions of a Greek tragedy was wildly skewed. Just goes to show I've never actually studied one..
For my visual storytelling class, I'm working on an artist book... The actual layout and concept of it is a little difficult to express without drawings and sketches, so I'll just say it's an artist book about two boys transfering into a private school, and my book is going to be a leather satchel on the outside, and then inside is a collection of schoolboy-scrapbook. ...when I have a draft finished, I'll post photos. It'll make more sense then.

I'm tempted to redo my LJ layout with Richard Speight Jr as the focus. XD; Obsessed much? Perhaps. But he makes for a pretty header, I think. I'm taking a bunch of caps for Band of Brothers, and if I get one I'm really pleased with, I might just turn that into a banner of some sort.
The bids for my art went through - I have two pieces of art to draw, and for one of them, I was also gifted two months of LJ paid account <3 which means BAND OF BROTHERS ICONSSS. AND MORE TREK ICONS. AND SPN. AND DC/MARVEL CAUSE I'VE ONLY GOT ONE. It'll be pretty sweet. I'll have to hold off on the layout change until after it expires, though, so I can see what the layout will look with ads. :/

Band of Brothers
So, I just finished the third part of Band of Brothers and wow. I mean, I figured I'd like it, because I haven't really met a war movie I haven't liked, and there were a handful of actors I was familiar with, so...
Halfway through the D-Day landing segment, I had to stop and google which parts Richard Speight Jr was in. ^___^;;; After they airdropped in off the planes, he wasn't seen for the rest of the part, and it was making me nervous. But he's apparently in the first seven, so YAY.
I'm pretty much trying to cap all of his scenes. XD;;; The only one I missed so far was in Part Three when they're holding the line, and there's tanks... Yeah, cause that's the only time that will happen. But anyway, he was there, but I was into the scene and I missed it. If I remember, I'll go back for it after.
I'm at 67 screencaps - ...I think only six of them are Simon Pegg, who I didn't know was in the miniseries until he suddenly appeared. His American accent is well done, but it just seems so strange on him, you know? Not because the acting's poor, but because I just know he's not American. ...it was a little weird. o_o
Richard's always effin smoking - in the plane, on the steps, in bars, at the mess, upside down from the bunk above... IT'S DRIVING ME INSANE. If there's two kinks I've got that hit me every time, one is tattoos and the other is smoking. Everyone freaking smokes in this. Rwah!
Also, uniforms don't usually do anything for me, but on Richard? ♥ It might be his hair, I don't know. I like the slicked back look on him. (Didn't he have that on SPN, too? Cept a longer version? Hmm...)
