Job stuff
I finally got fed up with being so goddamn bored on cash today (at Michael's) that I went to my store manager and asked if there was a floor position I could neatly slide into. He said there was, but wondered how I felt about moving into framing instead... It's the only part of the store (aside from cash office) that I haven't done anything with, but it's not like I'm opposed to the idea.

The framing manager paged me to framing a few minutes later and suddenly I was in the middle of a informal interview for a framing position. Liek woah. He then went out and picked two prints and told me to pick out three mats and a frame for them.

D: D: D: D: D: I HAD NOT EXPECTED A TEST OF SUCH. But I suppose it's hard to take someone's word that they're good at colour matching. He said that what he wanted was a framer that didn't just match colours, but matched them to the art. (It's the difference between choosing a wood frame because the grain of the wood matches the textures in the picture, as opposed to choosing a wood frame because it's brown, and there's brown in the picture.)

Needless to say, I did well enough with the first print that he said not to even bother with the second one, that he was convinced (and very pleased) and would talk to the store manager about switching me into framing.

\o/ Success! His only condition was that I smile more, which should be easy, since I won't be in a freaking coma for being so bloody bored twiddling my thumbs and waiting for people to leave in herds.

Seriously, what is with that? Why do people see a line up of people at the cash and decide, 'oh, now is a perfect time to attempt a quick pay-and-exit'. Why! Anyway. Someone told me that the position gets a pay raise. Bonus! I hadn't expected that. :B

Porcelain
My brother managed to take a chip out of the porcelain of the bathroom sink, and it freaks me out to look at it, and I don't know why. Actually, I think it's mostly because it reminds me of those dingy, broken bathrooms in horror movies, with the dirty water and bugs in the walls. *shudder*

Because of this, I made my first journey to Rona, to acquire the appropriate porcelain filler and glaze kits. FYI - was not in the bathroom or tile sections of the store as I thought it would. The materials were in the paint section, and the supervisor there, while young, was extremely knowledgeable.

To do this weekend
- Touch up the sink porcelain
- Fix the shower tiles
- Give the kitchen frog TLC (porcelain, needs a paint job)
- Paint more shirts for le frere
- Change availabilities
- Watch MOAR HOUSE
