I suppose it would be too much to ask for this weather to have lasted longer. Of course there are areas of Xanadu that are still quite warm, but do not want to stay there all the time and the snow has been blowing into my cave all month. I hope you have all had a very merry Chrismas and especially a very bountiful Christmas feast. I hope you got everything you wanted as gifts, and I am very thankful for what I have received, though really what I wanted was to see Laurence again.
I looked for Santa and his reindeer, but I did not see them. I do not think it makes very much sense for reindeer to fly, but they would make very interesting hunting if they did. [Adds hurriedly] Of course, I would not touch them if they belonged to Santa Claus.
