Have you ever seen the J drama, "SPEC"?
http://www.tbs.co.jp/spec2010/ It's an interesting drama - a pair of police detectives as part of a special division solving difficult cases (Mishou). Those two track down offenders with special abilities(SPEC) who managed to get away with their crimes.
SPEC is how they call the people who hold unscientific special abilities, such as stopping time precognition etc... They commit a crime but it only a crime in our world. They are innocent people who are born like monsters, some do not really mean to hurt anybody else but just by being there, they are concerned bad.
I sometimes think about the people who are like that, and I also feel for them that it would be so difficult for them to maintain those magnificent abilities continuing in a place living in this small society, because it would be shattered by most of the mediocre once it is emerged as it would be considered dangerous acts. It is true that there are tons of people in this society who love to live in order and they only feel safe by forcing them restrictions.
Well that's not a bad thing, however, the real evil on being in order is they love to maintain this public order, forcing it toward WHOMEVER they are. Especially in this country, the orderly society is too strict to everyone, treating equally the same to everyone. Naturally those who may have a potential to disturb public order would be eliminated. However, there are not only the gangs who wish to do bad acts intentionally but some are just being there and do some interesting things spontaneous which may cause disorder in the community in a sense. But those people can be called genius in a way. It is hard to distinguish the two; disorderly acts and amazing acts when you look carefully into the root of all the so-called evil acts. If you only look at the outcome, it may seem disorderly acts but with the more careful manner at the contents, it could be a genius and very interesting thing.
The good part of the J drama SPEC, not as always being illustrated bad. They would unavoidably commit some crimes because they inherently have those abilities. They are born that way and using their ability is one of the way to relieve themselves of troubling issues they currently have, but it is considered as crime in most of the cases. Is there a way for them to survive? Put them in a jail is only the solution? So-called normal or mediocre are considered good and those SPECs people are considered bad?
I often feel sad about the situation that some irreversibly talented people just no longer would like to stay in the society and go out from the mainstream or sometimes they are drawn out their sanity, as a consequence only boring people remains; all the lawmakers, CEO, teachers, government officers, the authoritative people. There are no outstanding people.
Simply, there are always some people who hinder special people's talent. If you look around, you would think of someone who has potential talent or simply genius, and if there was a sister or brother, mother, father around him/her who behaves according to a rule book, inspecting and restricting his/her behavior all the time. Those guys are the real offenders. Those people intentionally or unintentionally kill or smash one’s talent. Why? Only because he hates being next to the disorderly (genius in a sense) person or just because those SPECs are too free to do anything and they just can’t stand or jealous on his/her special abilities...that’s all. How lamentable life is.
I deplore the numerous shattered talents.
