Sir Eric Beyond and the Avant-Garde
I think I just had a small music-geekgasm when I was given the link to the Swedesplease - a blog by American Craig Bonnell about Swedish indie music from all kinds of different genres (though most seems to fit in under the wide denomer "pop"), and virtually everything come with free and legal mp3's to sample the music. Tons and tons of new interesting music.
I downloaded a few, and have discovered three new favorites: The Tiny - beautiful harmonious music that sounds a little like Björk; Sons of Cyrus is uncomplicated garage rock. If I had to compare them to something, I guess The Hives is fairly close to the mark, even if their sound is distinctly their own. And finally, Sir Eric Beyond and the Avant-Garde - how can you possibly not like a band with a name like that?
