Yo. What's goin' on?
Yello. Went back to school today. Booooooring. We were going to have PE first, but we had an Anzac Day/welcome-back-to-school-gorls-I-hope-you're-all-excited-about-learning assembly (yes, our principal calls us "gorls") instead. THEN we had PE...and would you believe, we were running the 800 metres. And most of us were in our winter uniforms...I tell you those skirts weigh a ton!
But the holidays rocked. I went shopping, and actually bought stuff...which is very unusual for me. I found jeans within half an hour of walking round the shops. Usually it takes at least 3 hours. Then I went with Ella and Chloe and found a top in about 10 minutes. I'm starting to scare myself. And it only cost $8! So now I have my outfit for the upcoming rugby social done--I had shoes already and I found a necklace when we went to the same place yesterday. Hehe, we walked around for ages and couldn't find Ella anything to wear. Either it was too pink, or glittery, or "basic", or she looked like an egg (don't ask.)
In other news, I found a brand spankin' new obsession to start the term off with. There used to be a show on called "Daria", a few years back. (It's actually a Beavis and Butthead spinoff, which gave me a bit of a shock--I've never really been a fan of them!) About a week ago I was at the library and saw a video of three Daria episodes. So we got it out and I've been watching it pretty much non-stop (to the point where I've begun picking out mistakes). Then I decided to take it online, found a good site...and have been hooked ever since. Hooked so badly, in fact, that I looked for a Daria category on fanfiction.net (a fellow geek helped me out; I'd been looking under TV Shows instead of Cartoons. Incidentally, Finding Nemo is also under Cartoons...honestly, guys.) Anyway, I found a REALLY good author who I think specialises in "what happened after" fics...and does them very well. He's RLobinske if anyone wants to know. I've also been doing a spot of fan-art--had a stab at drawing Daria in French today. It came out all right, my friend Clare actually recognised it! The face didn't come out too well, but I think I did pretty well for a first attempt.
So, I've been reading up on fanfics, transcipts, reviews, summaries...gathering info, in short, for my own fic. I have some ideas already: (if you're not a fan, skip this bit.)
-Freaky Friday Daria-style--Daria and Quinn swap bodies, & chaos ensues.
-Someone starts hitting on Tom while he's going out with Daria--interesting to see how Jane reacts to Daria being in her former position.
-Angsty type one-shot from when Trent drives away with Monique and leaves poor Daria watching from the window (ok, it's been done a million times, but you gotta start somewhere.)
I'm absolutely not doing a Daria/Trent romance. Absolutely NOT!
Okay, non-fans can resume reading now. Not that I have a lot more to say, apart from my brother turned 13 on the 24th. He's still clueless about girls. Which is bad (for them) because for an ugly little brother, he's pretty good looking. Dear oh dear...apparently a girl was trying to flirt with him at a party, sat on his flip-out-of-the-chair footrest--so he flipped it back into his chair and she fell on the floor. He thought she was being annoying. Actually I thought she sounded really flaky and she deserved it, but that's just me being bitchy/protective. Seriously though--I would've laughed!
Anywho, imagination is running out. Thanks for your comment Emma!!
