Anyone else glomping down every detail of the Dashcon wank and feeling like it's about ten years ago when, lo, there was much and merry wank, and fandom was often and greatly amused by it?

It's awful folks got fucked over, but this train wreck...it's maybe even more compellingly awful then MsScribe.

I feel like there was another con really recently that was a huge flop and possibly a scam, but no-one's bringing it up, so eh. But yeah. It's all pretty spectacular in the Dashcon tag right now.

Yeah, there was a bronie (brony? I have no idea) con gone terribly wrong in similar ways...I want to say last year? But those fandoms don't really overlap, so I guess no one in that corner of Tumblr heard the cautionary tales.

Yeah, I thought it was something to do with the Bronies, but...there've been a few disasters with them and it's hard to tell apart. MLP was actually at Dashcon - as much as ANY fandom was at Dashcon - but yeah. Lesson not learned.

There does seem to be some schadenfreude, but it also looks like such a clusterfuck behind the scenes, and with great handfuls of ridiculousness thrown in.
