A telly meme ah nicked offa
jinxed_wood. About lovely telly and stuff.
Name a TV show series in which you have seen every episode at least twice:
Oh, Doctor Who. (And recons counts, dammit.)
Name a (current) show you can't miss:
Legend of the Seeker. I'm a bit behind on most shows I'm watching at the mo, but, um, never LotS. I am only slightly ashamed. It's the swords! And maybe Craig Parker a bit.
Name an actor that would make you more inclined to watch a show:
James Purefoy.
Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show:
Ricky Gervais.
Name a show you can, and do, quote from.
Doctor Who. Maybe. Occasionally.
Name a show you like that no one else enjoys:
Hammer House of Horror. I'm not even sure I like it. It's dreadful. Not a single decent episode and even Peter Cushing and Brian Cox combined have not the power to save their godawful script of awfulness.
Name a TV show which you've been known to sing the theme song:
Doctor Who TOTALLY HAS WORDS: Dun dundun dun dundun dun dundun WOOOOHOOOEEEEWOOOOOO! DAH! Dah-dah-dah-da! DAH! Dah-dah-dah-da! DAAAAAAAAAH! Or something.
Ahem.
I also know the words to Gummi Bears.
Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch:
State of Play. No-one can call that bad telly*, nor can they do that awful thing my sister does with all telly made before 1990 where she makes a face and not-so-subtly implies it's a bit slow. WHATEVS, DUDE.
Name a TV series you own:
Spaced. It's the first one I spotted on the shelf and I only have to admit to one, yay.
What is your favourite episode of your favourite series?
The Time Monster, bb. IT'S ON DVD SOON WITH NIIIIIMONS YAY.
A show you mean to watch, but you just haven't gotten around to yet:
Being Human. Everyone likes it mostly and it sounds all spiffy and tots something I'd enjoy but I'm put off by Midshipman Frame, yo.
Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?
Prison Break. I've got the last five or six episodes of season four to watch and it's been over a year and I just can't be bothered finding out how it ends. That was a pretty scary descent from "Ooh! Yay!" to "Wtf is this shit?"
Name a show you aren't interested in watching, not in the least:
Mad Men.
Name a show that's made you cry multiple times:
Oh, I cry at everything.
Oldest TV show you like?
I quite like the old Flash Gordon serials, from the thirties, but they were maked for cinema rather than the telly. Oldest proper telly is probably The Quatermass Experiment.
Newest TV show you like?
White Collar.
What do you eat when you watch TV?
Food.
...
Shutup.
How often do you watch TV?
I want to say Too Much, but then I think of how many hours I spend (not working) on the computer and suddenly it starts to look a whole lot more sensible.
Do you have a favorite talk show?
Noooo. Mostly I get vastly annoyed at someone and end up flailing at the telly. Question Time does bad things to my blood pressure. I like PMQs though. That's, um, sort of like a talk show?
What's the last TV show you watched?
Um, American Dad. It's on the telly right now, in fact. I'm not really watching. I'm typing in this box.
What's your favourite/preferred genre of TV?
Sciffy, yo. It also take a lot to make me give up on a historical thingie.
What's your least favourite genre of TV?
Soap things.
What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?
Thundercats! Has there ever been a greater theme tune? To anything? Ever? I think not.
What TV show do you wish you never watched?
Robin Hood. The new one. Richard Armitage was all very nice and such but, rather stupidly, I never quite gave up on thinking "it's got to get better soon, it's just got to." For three years. Yeah.
What's the weirdest show you enjoyed?
Well, there's this show about an old man who lives in a magic cupboard in a junk yard and he kidnaps these two teachers...
What TV show scared you the most?
I did get kind of freaked out at a lot of Supernatural back in season one. There was a LITTLE GIRL. IN A PICTURE. OF DEATH.
What is the funniest TV show you have ever watched?
Blackadder, I assume. I get unreasonably annoyed when Fawlty Towers beats it WRONGLY and CONSTANTLY in any Best Comedy Poll anyway.
Which do you think is the best TV series ever made?
I, Claudius. Obviously.
I give honourable mention things to State of Play, House of Cards and Edge of Darkness. Their names are all made in the same template. It is clearly a sign of some sort.
*well, they can, technically. But they would be incorrect in the most fundamental way of incorrectness.
