FOCUSED. That's how I would describe how I feel at the moment. Although it has taken me a few mistakes, and a lot more time than perhaps it should have, I feel that I have arrived at a place I need to be when it comes to my schooling. When it came down to it, our financial problems that led to my withdrawal last quarter have allowed me to shine a light on what I need and want. I have yet to decide whether I will be studying under a MS in Atmospheric Science or Geography with a Climatology Specialization, but they are both similar. I am leaning toward the MS in ASP, but there is less coursework available. On the other hand, a Masters in 4 quarters sounds nice. We'll see. I will be starting classes this week, which I am extremely grateful for. Right now, I am only scheduled for one class: GEOG 820.01 Climate System Modeling: Basics and Applications. Course description sounds awesome:
Explore Climate System Models that are used to investigate the behavior of Earth's climate in the past, to understand contemporary
climate variability, and to project future change, such as with "global warming".
However, I will also be scheduling some time with either Dr. R or Dr. H to work on IDL Programming (atmospheric scientists like it). Overall, I am ready and as I said, focused on success this quarter. DOOM AND GLOOM BEHIND ME!
