As you can see, this was quite a storm. Offically, at the Dayton airport, this becomes the 2nd largest snowfall behind the December 23, 2004 storm. Columbus was the big winner with around 20 inches of snow, breaking their record from February 1910. Some other things to note, there were several lightning strikes throughout the area on Friday night. Also, there was a report of small hail (not sleet) with one of the convective bands that moved through near Huber Heights.
For a snow lover, this was an awesome storm. I was reading the Farmer's Almanac yesterday. And for those who have not read it, they usually give a descriptive poem for each month. I liked what I read about March.
"Winds ululate, while snowflakes accumulate! So cold it's hard to believe we'll be relieved, but Spring has sunshine up her sleeve. And though we're wary, we know this snow is only temporary!"
Hang in there my warm loving friends. We'll be bitchin' about heat and humidity before we know it.
