ANOTHER ABC22/FOX 45 UPDATE
Well, what can I say, but I had another terrific visit to ABC22/FOX45 this morning. Mike was extremely happy that I made it back in, and that felt good. He even took some time to introduce me to some of the morning news anchors. It was nice.
Afterward, he went to a meeting and he pretty much left me on my own to set up and run through a couple of weather segments. I felt much more comfortable today. I imagined a group of friends were watching and I was just explaining what was happening. When I was finished, Mike encouraged me to take a look at the footage, pick one segment that I liked from each session, and then send in my performance tape to the news director. He even gave a little wink when he said this, which I am trying not to read too much into. But, it made me feel like he was confident in my ability and would be happy to have me around.
When I got home (W. Alex home), I compiled the tape, typed up an additional letter to go with it, and mailed it in. I feel so accomplished, more so than I have since I graduated. My wife was absolutely correct when she said to me, "It's amazing how happy you can be, when you have something to work toward." Now, its time to wait some more. Allow the necessary actions to take place that brings me the position. But, this is not a time for relaxing. I must take the responsibility to continue practicing and improving my craft. The last thing he told me was that I was invited to the station anytime I would like. I told him that even though I would be turning in my tape, I would love to take advantage of the use of the station. It feels nice to be a Meteorologist.
