That it's basically all refined grains glommed together, heh. I did dither a bit about whether rice noodles and such were included, but decided that even if they were I could be hardcore about that. There *is* whole grain pasta out there, and quinoa pasta, and things like that, but basically you aren't going to encounter that in 99% of restaurants. So it's largely absent from my life unless you count rice noodles too. I could give those up if I had to but man I'd miss pad see ew. I liked wheat pasta okay, but I didn't love it the way I love bread, so it was not the hardest stupid diet sacrifice I've ever made, not by a long shot. I don't think I've deliberately had wheat pasta since. I go "oh, fuck it, yes please" to cake semiregularly even though I shouldn't.
Cake is, um, an at least once a month thing here. It's not every week, but it might be every two. (I will not start a cake tracker, I will not start a cake tracker... do not think of a white elephant....)
We have a box of quinoa pasta in our cabinet, and it's sat there untouched for at least six months because it's on Raven's Shelf of Expensive Organic Hippie Food so Mayhem kinda glosses over it, and I don't cook. Once all the leftovers from Thanksgiving are gone, I ought to try leaving it somewhere prominent and see if it gets made, haha.

and it sounds like you, too, should implement the "it came from the pantry" cooking blog.
