Tis the Season

Here I am. Sitting alone in an apartment gradually emptying itself out. Deb's gone home to see her family for a few days. I just put a week's worth of clothes into a laundry basket so I can bring the dresser to the new place. Earlier, I got all of the bookcases out of here. At some point, they will need to be arranged within the new place and ( Read more... )

You're right - lots of games are getting really sterile.

However, we just picked up Okami on Friday, and it is really neat. Actually requires some sideways thinking, patience, and dare I say it? A smidgen of artistic talent. (Just a smidge.)

But it's really cool, and for PS2. Which means we didn't need a new console. (Although with the drawing part of it, I believe it would be great to play on the Wii.) I think we're interested in picking up a Wii at some point - because it is a 'get up off your ass for a change' system, and that seems like a really cool idea. Haven't seen one in person to try out yet though - will probably have to take it for a test drive before we buy... if we even ever see any for sale.

I often walk through the PS2 section in stores and find myself amazed at how so many games are available, but none of them look interesting. Anyway, I might have to rent Okami sometime. Games with unique art styles generally catch my eye much more quickly than games using the typical "computer rendered" look, and Capcom generally makes good games ( ... )

Awesome! Next time we're up there, we'll have to see if it's still up and running. I think Ryan will be up there in April/May. I'll have to tell him.

Unless GZ goes out of business or somebody chucks the controller through the TV, the Wii will still be there and playable.

I just want to say, in WoWers defense, that we're not all like your brother. In fact, that seems incredibly rude to me. Yes, I play, and once in a great while I'll say, "I can't do X, I'm in the game." but it's very, very rare. If I had a tradition with a family member, and I was going to be *with* said family member today/tomorrow, I'd totally rather do that than play WoW.

In fact, I'll be logging off in a bit, to do hang out with my chosen family, so there you go. :P

I'm sorry your brother's a WoW'tard. *sigh*

It's good to hear that everybody's not like that. I know everybody behaves differently when playing their MMORPGs.

I also believe that I would behave more like my brother, and I think it would be bad for me to get into something that makes me more anti-social than I already am.

So, I'm going to be in the UP Jan 4th through the 8th... think you might have time for lunch or an arbitrary beverage or something? ;)
