Accidental Voice Post
[Four-twenty-seven, another early morning, but this time Niko is prepared, having gone to bed at nine o'clock the previous evening. Still, he needs company in the darkness after the images that habitually rouse him from sleep. Robin isn't an option; he has enough difficulties right now. Ishiah is still an acquaintance at best. Delilah is ... Well, she's Delilah.
Niko dials Promise's number, reluctant to disturb her with something that is painful for both of them, but mindful of the agreement he made to let her help. He wedges the phone between ear and shoulder as he laces his boots. The call goes straight to voicemail. Niko checks the number, dials again, receives the same. Suspicious, he leaves a message that neatly skirts uncomfortable personal specifics while telling Promise everything she needs to know. Via the quirks of the City (or maybe an act of Cat that sent Phone to meet Floor last night), it winds up on the Network instead of in anyone's mailbox.]
Promise? It's four-thirty-three. I thought you might be interested in a breakfast meeting. Call me when you get this message. I'll be in Xana-
[Silence for an instant, then a dial tone. Just roaming, or in a dead zone?]
[ooc: Niko's in the empty city. His phone was temporarily cut off by the transition, but he'll have network access again after a brief delay (he needs to get his phone working properly again). If anyone's in the apartment, he left the bed unmade, he didn't take any of his jackets, his favorite sword is still under the mattress, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, the cat has not been fed.
I will have to backdate a lot of tagging this afternoon, so thanks for being patient with me.]
