Hey Everyone!
I'm finally here. I got lost on the way of course but what's life without a little adventure? It's drizzling here and humid but not so much so where I'll be miserable. But getting lost gets you a little stressed out so that's why it was a little bit worse. Everyone's so nice here and they try to help you as much as you can. Their English, so far, isn't as limited as I thought it would be. I did have to use a little bit of Japanese just so they could point me in the right direction. Basically I know is where is this...they point...i say thanks in japanese and leave. But it got me here and that's all i care... The flight was LONG but still good. I took a short nap but that's it. I got some reading done for my class. I'm about one third into my book already. Tokyo was funny because I got lost in the airport but then I found my way around. There were these people and I over heard them saying that they were flying to Osaka so I just followed them.
So I get to Itami airport and I ask the dude where the bus is. There are like 20 buses going to different directions but i found out which I was supposed to take. Then I get to the machine that distributes the ticket....yeah....ALL IN JAPANESE...ha ha..So I go excuse me to the lady, tell her my destination and give her my money and she does it for me. She was so nice. I get on the bus, not knowing if it'll stop somewhere or if it's direct, but you know, whatever....ha ha. The bus driver was so savage, he was passing people left and right, I loved it. It's a new feeling to have the fast lane on the right side of the road. I saw a golf store, I'm not sure if it was like a factory or an actual store. I saw a McDonalds! And I saw a bunch of other stuff too! I was great. I was totally one of those loser tourists who keeps on smiling upon seeing everything but I don't care. I'm in JAPAN!! What's not to love??
So I get to the bus station and wow. Damn. I mean, I was LOST. But I whip out my map and try to find my way. I head in one direction and think, this isn't the right direction, and go back. I find a guard (like a crossing guard sorta) and ask him and he points me in the direction of where I came from! *slap on head* I was going in the right direction! I go and keep on going. Then I finally see it, pictures to come I hope.
I get to the hotel and they give me the key. I head up and Tim wasn't here yet. So I just updated email and stuff. About 5 minutes later, he gets here and we go out for a little bit. The place where we are is hella ghetto but good. It's just different. There's a maid cafe across the way. Manga stores everywhere, but they were closed last night. Arcades everywhere. And chicks trying you to go inside their "establishment".....*I wonder what kind those are esp. if they have the word bunny in it...* All in all, it was a good night. Now time to get ready for getting to the university. Bye all!
Talk to you guys later!
